The first session has one job: turn what is in your head into a clarified goal, a recommended action, a draft artifact and a next step tied to evidence. It should take one sitting.
Open with the messy version
Explain it the way you would to a friend who is not going to invest. Half-formed is expected. Ted's first job is to make it specific, not to praise it.
Give the context that actually helps
The more of this you can answer, the less Ted has to guess — and guesses are what make AI output feel plausible and useless.
- Audience: who this is for, specifically enough that you could list ten of them.
- Problem: what it costs them today in money, time or risk.
- Promise: the result, in one sentence.
- Deadline: when you need something in front of people.
- Constraints: money, hours, skills, and anything you are not willing to do.
- Examples: things that already work in the neighbourhood of your idea.
- Signal: what would tell you the next step is worth taking.
